Chalkline Bootcut

A chalk-white bootcut in rigid, non-stretch denim. The leg runs clean to the knee and opens from there, so it breaks over a boot instead of gripping it. White denim marks early — the knee and seat go soft first, and the pair reads better for it.

The fabric

Non-stretch denim holds its shape through the day rather than relaxing out of it. Expect the first few wears to feel firm through the hip; the fabric moulds to you from there and keeps that shape between washes.

Fit & sizing

Cut loose through the thigh with a long inseam so the flare can stack. Between sizes, take the smaller — rigid denim gives roughly a size at the waist within the first week.

Measurements are taken flat on the garment, in centimetres. Waist is the full circumference; leg opening is the full width of the hem. Allow 1–2 cm of variation.

Care

• Machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle
• Wash separately for the first few washes
• Do not bleach
• Hang to dry — do not tumble dry
• Warm iron on the reverse if needed
