The heavyweight. 17.6 oz denim — roughly 597 g/m², where most heavy jeans stop at 14 or 15 oz. Washed with whiskering at the hip, rigid, and cut loose so the weight hangs off the body rather than binding to it.

The fabric

At this weight denim behaves differently: it stands away from the leg, holds a crease like card and takes weeks rather than days to break in. The reward is a pair that keeps its shape for years and fades along the lines you put into it.

Fit & sizing

Cut generously to carry the weight. Heavy denim feels tight before it feels right — give it a week before judging the waist. If you are between sizes, take the larger.

Measurements are taken flat on the garment, in centimetres. Waist is the full circumference; leg opening is the full width of the hem. Allow 1–2 cm of variation.

Care

• Machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle
• Wash separately for the first few washes
• Do not bleach
• Hang to dry — do not tumble dry
• Warm iron on the reverse if needed
